2nd Shift Industrial Mechanic

Rich Ice Cream is seeking a 2nd Shift Industrial Mechanic to join our team in West Palm Beach, Florida. The right candidate will have the ability to maintain the smooth functioning of our production line through repairing, maintaining, and installing automated and manual equipment used in the production of Ice Cream Products. The right candidate will be experienced in performing preventative and overhaul maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

This person will be responsible to repair, maintain and install automated and manual equipment used in the production of our Ice Cream Products at Rich Ice Cream Company. Practice Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Good Sanitation Practices (GSP's) and safe performance of duties assigned.

This position will utilize mechanical and problem-solving skills while working closely with the Operations team, Receiving team, Warehouse and Inventory team, Food Safety team, and Maintenance team in the production/manufacturing of products by following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) throughout the process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare equipment for the scheduled daily run.
• Monitor Production startup and correct any issues that may occur.
• Monitor production lines and make necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Rebuild component parts of machinery when necessary.
• Follow the preventative maintenance program by doing the assigned work and filling out the proper paperwork.
• Inspect and report potential equipment failure to Supervisor.
• Work closely with Machine Operators, Production Managers and Sanitation to keep the machinery in the best possible running condition.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules which includes nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electric systems leading to maintaining and repair of automated equipment
• Ability to diagnose, repair, disassemble and reassemble motors, gear heads, pumps, air cylinders, etc.
• Knowledge of PLC controlled systems (ladder diagrams and programming would help but not required)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOP's, operating and maintenance instructions and equipment manuals.
• Understand food safety rules, plant GMP's and follow safe working practices.
• Strong electric skills (troubleshooting, control circuits, understanding of wiring diagrams, VFD's, servo control, motor starters, etc.)
• Must speak, read and write English.
• Must be able to work 2nd Shift and Saturdays.

Education

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3-years’ technical degree required.
• Minimum of 3-years’ experience in production environment
