Advanced Pediatric Therapies is an OT clinic specializing in Sensory Processing Disorders for over 20 years in the Portland Metro/SW Washington area. We are currently seeking a full time occupational therapist to join our team of knowledgeable and playful therapists in our Vancouver, WA location. We are looking for someone who is passionate about pediatrics, a life-long learner, and would like to be part of a cohesive, supportive, and experienced team. Vancouver, WA is a large suburb of Portland with the benefit of no state income tax.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review intakes and medical records to evaluate and treat children aged 0-18 in an outpatient clinic and via telehealth when appropriate
- Develop treatment plan and goals that are individualized to meet each child’s needs and based on child/family needs
- Update short and long term goals as required by insurance and/or clinic
- Involve parents in treatment sessions for parent coaching and home programming implementation
- Provide written and verbal recommendations/home programs to clients and caregivers
- Correspond with child’s teacher, other therapists, and doctor’s as needed to ensure collaboration of care
- Communicate regularly and thoroughly with supervisors and peers in written form and in person
- Complete documentation in a timely manner
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Attend continuing education workshops to ensure quality of care, help APT remain cutting edge in treatment, and meet licensure requirements
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in OT
- Prefer 2 year experience in pediatrics, preference given to experience with SPD, ASD, and/or relationship based therapies
- Washington license preferred; licensing in WA can take up to 3 months
- Current CPR or ability to obtain
- Must pass a criminal history background check

Physical Job Demands:
- Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in large and small gym spaces, sometimes over uneven surfaces, that involve setting up and taking down suspended equipment involving lifting. While working with children, employees will frequently need to perform therapy on mats and may be on their knees or sitting on the floor. Must be able to physically assist children as needed for part of their treatment plan with climbing and other physically active skills for up to 7 hours per day.
