Machine Shop Supervisor

Harahan, Louisiana: Flexicrew Technical Services is now hiring a Machine Shop Supervisor with 10+ years of manual machining and CNC machining experience.

Position Overview: The Machine Shop Supervisor is tasked with managing the production of essential maritime components such as shafts, rudders, bearings, winches, and other vessel-related parts. This role requires hands-on experience and leadership to ensure the high-quality production and efficiency of operations.

Production Management:
Oversee the production processes for shafts, rudders, bearings, winches, and related components.
Ensure all products meet precise specifications and quality standards.

Workforce Coordination:
Manage a team of 5-10 employees, ensuring optimal productivity and teamwork.
Assign tasks based on individual skills and project requirements, ensuring effective use of manpower and resources.

Operational Oversight:
Maintain equipment and tools in good working order, and oversee manual machine operations.
Implement and monitor all production schedules to guarantee timely delivery of components.

Safety and Compliance:
Uphold strict adherence to safety regulations and ensure all safety devices are utilized.
Conduct regular safety drills and reviews to ensure a safe working environment.

Employee Development and Performance:
Conduct performance evaluations, offer feedback, and provide opportunities for professional growth.
Administer necessary disciplinary actions and resolve conflicts within the team.
Requirements:

Education:
High school diploma or vocational training with a formal apprenticeship achieving journeyman status, or equivalent.

Experience: At least 10 years as a first-class machinist, including supervisory roles with hands-on manual machining experience.
Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on precision machining and production.
Working Hours:

Schedule: 40-60 hours per week, with flexible hours depending on production needs.
