Job Description

SUMMARY: Assist Facilities and Engineering departments to replace or repair manufacturing equipment and tooling as needed; provide the building and the surroundings with maintenance as needed. Lead the Maintenance team on different projects and daily tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Responsible for repairing and maintaining facility and production equipment following manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Knowledge of interpreting hydraulic and electrical blueprints.
  • In charge of using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments to service and/or maintain equipment.
  • Accountable for inspecting and measuring parts to detect wear on equipment, learning the program for computer-controlled robot to modify or repair.
  • Responsible for using gas, electrical, brazing, soldering, welding equipment, setting up and operating lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • At the helm of working as part of a team in performing various maintenance projects.In charge of assisting engineers to modify sketches or designs of facility equipment components.
  • Conduct testing facility equipment performance, cleaning, lubricating parts, installing facility equipment according to specifications, troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
  • Accountable to Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, Subpart S-Electrical.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role 5+years
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Process Control knowledge, electrical knowledge, strong Mechanical Aptitude, familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
  • Ability to provide leadership, with the ability to coach and mentor team partners.
  • Actively participate in plant Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
  • Working knowledge of PLC’s
  • High School degree or GED
  • Professional Certifications (e.g. HVAC certified) are preferred.
  • Robot repair experience
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or comparable job experience, a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience or trade school knowledge of HVAC or electrical work.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ electrical, mechanical and fabrication maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with power tools, measuring instruments in the performance of various electrical & mechanical repairs, troubleshooting & fabrication tasks. Able to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA-70 standards and ability to read electrical and mechanical prints and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with MIG and TIG welding of various metals and alloys.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management
  • Exceptional planning and leadership abilities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of identifying issues and determining repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT:

  • Following items are available as needed:
    • Safety glasses are required in designated areas
    • Uniform/Jacket issued by the company must be worn in designated areas.
    • Which also may include Tyvek suits, Hard Hat, Gloves, Protective Eyewear, Safety Shoes, assigned Uniform, NFPA-70E equipment, Respirator.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers. Must be able to speak and hear. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sit, stoop and crouch. Requires mental and visual attention to detail as well as hand coordination. Occasionally lifting or moving average weight material. The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination or part-time normal and part-time concentrated attention and coordination.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Employee must be able to read and interpret documents written in English. Employees must be able to have good communication with fellow employees, supervisors, and management.
