Branch Safety Officer (BSO) Phoenix, AZ

Reports directly to the Branch Manager and the Corporate Safety Officer.

For the safety of our employees, our job sites, OSHA compliance, crew training, and crew production.

The BSO shall oversee the following:

1. Administer our safety policy.
2. Maintain our record keeping system.
3. Assist, review, and file all accident investigations.
4. Assist the Safety Director with workers compensation claims.
5. Assist for the preparation of the OSHA 300 logs.
6. Preform job site audits/inspections. To include pre-start, job start with Foreman (go over toolbox topic, JHA, and address any safety concerns), random job site visits for safety and productivity checks, post job walks.
7. Audit all facilities to make sure all safety procedures are being followed. Prepare and submit monthly facility inspections.
8. Assist the Safety Director to develop, or acquire all safety related checklist, JHA’s, and toolbox talks.
9. Conduct training for scaffolding, tool, and equipment use.
10. Inspect equipment and machinery for possible unsafe conditions.
11. Attend and represent the Phoenix branch in all scheduled safety meetings.
12. New hire orientation.

We Teach the following safety training classes, both for our employees, and our customers on an as needed basis.

1. Competent person. Frame, Systems, Suspended.
2. OSHA 10
3. OSHA 30
4. Confined space
5. Fall protection
6. Forklift
7. Rigging awareness
8. Lock out tag out
9. CPR/First Aid
10. Scaffold Hazard Awareness
11. MSHA
12. Respirator fit test

Most of these classes are conducted by our Corporate Safety Director but you will be asked to assist or carry-on some of these responsibilities on an as needed basis.

Prerequisites::

• Scaffold Knowledge preferred
• Must be computer literate
• Must have pervious safety experience
• OSHA 510 or 500 preferred
• Bilingual English / Spanish
• Must have clean driving record and be over the age of 25 to be added applicant to our auto insurance
