Staff Accountant
Champions Funding seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our financial team. As a Staff Accountant, you will maintain accurate financial records, support the month-end close, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performing basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, tax payments and inventory control
- Performing all basic accounting procedures, month-end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, fixed assets preparing supporting schedules for financial statements preparation
- Month-end and quarterly closing (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements)
- Monitoring and reviewing all assets, liabilities, and other financial transition records.
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management
- Producing financial data for the management team upon request and assisting with other special accounting projects from time to time
- Ensures accurate portfolio administration by maintaining accurate records and recording all financial transactions (payments, etc.) daily.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
- Prior experience in the banking industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word and experience with accounting software.
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail.
