ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly-qualified MTSS/504 Coordinator at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy in Colorado Springs, CO for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year!

At Banning Lewis Ranch, we serve students in Grades K-5. Highlights include our Capturing Kid's Hearts Program, Celebration of Learning Nights, 5th Grade Capstone Field Trip to Washington DC, and a well-rounded student schedule that includes Spanish, Art, PE, Music & Technology.

At Banning Lewis Prep, we serve students in Grades 6-12. We carefully transition students into Middle School with purposeful social activities and programs as LEAD our leadership development program, sports through the Central Colorado Athletic League, and numerous clubs and electives. In High School, we offer traditions such as Homecoming, Prom, and Student Senate. We focus on Concurrent Enrollment opportunities, Service Learning Projects, Senior Capstone Projects, and college and career readiness (such as online courses, career & technical business programs, foreign exchange program opportunities and much more. At the High School level, our athletes compete in the Tri-Peaks League and have many additional extracurricular opportunities such as Mock Trial, Jazz & Concert Band, National Honor Society, and more.

About the Opportunity:

Overview: As the Elementary School MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and 504 Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic success and holistic well-being of students by coordinating support services and accommodations. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside professionals to implement and monitor interventions for students requiring additional support through MTSS and those covered under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. MTSS Coordination:
    • Develop, implement, and oversee the MTSS framework in alignment with district guidelines and best practices.
    • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to identify students in need of interventions and support.
    • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
    • Facilitate regular meetings with MTSS teams to review student progress, adjust interventions as needed, and ensure fidelity of implementation.
  2. 504 Accommodation Planning:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for 504 accommodation plans, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and district policies.
    • Work closely with parents/guardians, teachers, and relevant stakeholders to develop individualized 504 plans tailored to each student's needs.
    • Provide training and support to staff on implementing accommodations outlined in 504 plans, including instructional strategies and modifications.
    • Conduct periodic reviews and updates of 504 plans in collaboration with the student's educational team.
  3. Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring:
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to student performance and behavior to inform decision-making and intervention planning.
    • Utilize assessment data, progress monitoring tools, and other measures to evaluate the effectiveness of MTSS interventions and 504 accommodations.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and accommodations, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant privacy laws.
  4. Collaboration and Professional Development:
    • Foster a collaborative culture among school staff, parents, and community partners to support the holistic needs of students.
    • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers and staff related to MTSS best practices, differentiated instruction, and accommodations for diverse learners.
    • Serve as a resource and advocate for students with diverse learning needs, promoting inclusive practices and equity in education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, special education, school psychology, counseling, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching or educational specialist certification/license.
  • Knowledge of MTSS frameworks, RTI (Response to Intervention), and best practices in supporting diverse learners.
  • Familiarity with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and experience developing and implementing 504 accommodation plans.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to assess data and make data-informed decisions.
  • Experience in elementary education and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
