Summary

The Outreach Specialist implements activities in the community to recruit and engage pregnant individuals and families with young children including those with developmental delays and disabilities for the Help Me Grow system of supports.  The Outreach Specialist assists with organizing events, developing and maintaining relationships with individuals and organizations across the Northeast Region of Ohio, presenting to referral sources and community stakeholders, and shares information and resources with families.

This position requires coverage of the entire Northeastern Region with a primary focus in Ashtabula, Geauga, and Lake counties.  The Outreach Specialist position is hybrid with regular travel (approximately 50-75% of the time) within the Northeastern Region required.    

Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities)

1.    Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, public speaking, or customer service.

2.    Experience conducting outreach in professional and community environments preferred. 

3.    Experience with pregnant individuals and families with young children preferred. 

4.    Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. word processing, electronic spreadsheets, and presentation software), email applications, and internet usage. Intermediate skill level preferred.

5.    Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records.

6.    Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.

7.    Ability to organize, establish and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system and office procedures.

8.    Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.

9.    Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public, staff and patrons.

10.  Ability to work independently with general direction.

11.  Ability to meet monthly, quarterly, or annual outreach goals.

Education/License Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Associates Degree preferred.

Valid Ohio Driver’s License and appropriate insurance coverage.
