Job Description

SUMMARYTo ensure production and manufacturing equipment is well maintained and is running to its up most efficiency. To evaluate all equipment repairs and frequency of repairs to determine if equipment has gone beyond its useful life. Maintain a safe work environment for all employees. Oversee maintenance operations and manage all maintenance employees.

  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Fabricate new production machinery and new equipment and/or parts.
  • Rebuild existing machinery in plant when needed.
  • Set policy and manage spare parts inventory.Research vendors on the internet for parts.
  • Regulate maintenance budget and projects.
  • Coordinate down time on equipment with other departments.
  • Intermediate computer skills to enter and utilize the maintenance software tools.
  • Manage relationships with production equipment contractors and providers.

  • Supervise Maintenance Team
  • Participate on Factory Central Leadership team

  • Stay up to date on trends and innovations that can impact the operational costs and make improvements.

  • Investigate and implement new continuous improvement systems and programs in facilities maintenance.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs on all machines.
  • Drive predictive maintenance programs on all machines.

  • Machine Downtime

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • Direct Reports: Maintenance team
  • Supervisory Duties: Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Maintenance.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
  • General operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, including telephones, copier, fax machine, 10-key adding machine.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to sit; finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment can be quite loud and safety requirements must be followed.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to compare, analyze, communicate, compute, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, copy, coordinate, instruct, synthesize, and compile. The employee is occasionally required to negotiate.
