Quality Assurance Lead

LightFeather is currently seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Lead to join our team and drive excellence in software testing and quality assurance practices. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and executing software test plans to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role demands a strategic thinker who can design testing strategies, manage test environments, and lead a team to ensure all software meets or exceeds our rigorous testing standards. You will have overall responsibility in the performance of the software test plan development and execution.

This Position is Full Time, Remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, scripts, and automation for various types of testing (functional, integration, regression, etc.).
• Ensure thorough testing coverage and traceability through meticulous management of test cases, user stories, and test steps.
• Implement and manage testing tools like Selenium and SonarQube to support test automation and performance testing.
• Coordinate with Agile development teams and stakeholders to define clear expectations and deliverables for all testing tasks.
• Manage and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring successful completion of user stories and test criteria.
• Identify deficiencies in business requirements and technical specifications for completeness and testability.
• Track defects and report key metrics to identify and address areas for improvement proactively.
• Manage the setup of test environments and the change processes leading to UAT and production deployments.
• Facilitate effective interactions among team members and coordinate with government project leads to ensure seamless operation and communication.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• US Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; previous or active DHS ICE clearance is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an Enterprise IT environment.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
• Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) by the Quality Assurance Institute (QAI).
• DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification (required within 6 months of hire).
• Strong technical expertise in test automation tools (Selenium), performance testing tools, and code quality assessment tools (SonarQube).
• Experienced in testing within an Agile development environment, including sprint planning and execution, as well as integration with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL for creating complex queries needed for validating data integrity and performing detailed data analysis.
• Expertise in configuring and managing test environments, familiarity with containerization and virtualization platforms (e.g., Docker, VMware).
• In-depth understanding of software testing types, methods, and best practices, including test planning, case development, and execution for both manual and automated tests.
• Strong leadership skills and experience in managing diverse testing teams, with a proven track record of successful project deliveries.
