We are seeking a motivated self-starter who thrives on implementing strategic plans and driving innovation. In this role, you'll be instrumental in designing and developing equipment and processes to bolster the production of Thermon's cutting-edge products, all while championing our lean initiatives.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll excel at aligning internal teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and progress. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to grow within Thermon, where you'll play a pivotal role as a key team member, supporting our operations to achieve ambitious project budgets and schedule targets.
This is an onsite role from our San Marcos, TX location.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development and Implementations:
- Lead efforts to develop new process technology for existing products.
- Implement new product designs into production.
Project Management and Execution:
- Be accountable for detailed execution processes behind orders/projects, with support from the Operations team.
- Present in weekly project performance reviews, identifying risks and challenges to ensure accurate resource forecasting, successful completion, and customer satisfaction. Complete weekly and monthly progress reports.
Continuous Improvement and Lean Initiatives
- Own CI initiatives to optimize organizational processes.
- Support lean activities, including efforts toward six-sigma initatives.
- Support the improvement of production KPIs (ie. OTD, first pass yield, NCR Pareto and Shop efficiency).
Technical Support and Documentation:
- Provide technical support to Quoting, Estimating, Drafting and Supply Chain departments.
- Support Codes and Standards compliance (e.g. API, NFPA).
- Write, update and maintain procedure documentation, engineering procedures, and installation instructions.
- Design tools, poke-yokes and equipment.
- Provide training for production teams on process; coordinate training and standard processes with remote sites.
- Support daily production requirements including process deviation requests, process engineering change requests and returned material requests.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree with 4 years relevant experience required.
- Strong Project Management experience: excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Lean experience. Green belt or Black Belt preferred
- Expert level in Microsoft Office Suite of tools, especially Excel.
- Extensive knowledge of production principles and techniques.
- Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software (Solidworks preferred).
- ERP system knowledge (AX dynamics preferred)

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and comfortable with directing and evaluating tasks/activities to supporting team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with equipment.
- Experience in manufacturing, electrical or automation industry
- Experience with assembly and sheet metal operations
- Proficiency in presenting information to management and customers
- Drive to understand how things work
