Job Description

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Electrical Technologies with expertise in DC power systems, inverters, converter chargers, and battery storage. Experience in Radio Communications, Satellite RF, Microwave, Pneumatics, and PLC Controllers is a huge plus.  

In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in various settings, including commercial and industrial environments.

The role will also include writing quotes, working with suppliers, and preparing customer invoices.

If you have a solid understanding of electrical theory, are familiar with relevant codes and regulations, and can troubleshoot and diagnose issues with DC power systems, inverters, converter chargers, and battery storage, then this may be the position that you have been looking for!  Other responsibilities could include diagnosing, servicing and repairing hydraulic systems, generator power systems, IT Data systems, Satellite and Radio Communication systems on the specialty vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of Associate's Degree required. Relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of DC power systems, inverters, converter chargers, and battery storage systems in a communications environment, working with satellite RF, microwave, pneumatics, and PLC controllers. 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in writing quotes, responding to Request for Proposals, and estimating electronics work.

  • Project Management experience is a plus.

  • Experience with IT, Data, Radio & Satellite Communications preferred

  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, codes, and regulations.

  • Ability to use tools such as multimeters, soldering irons, cable and wire testers…etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers and team members professionally.

  • Proficiency in using electronic diagnostic equipment, as well as office software for quote and invoice preparation.

  • Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions.

  • Valid CA Driver’s License

  • Must have and maintain a good driving record and be able to be (reasonably) insured.

  • Must be fluent in the English language (both verbal and written skills required).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, maintain, and repair DC power systems, inverters, converter chargers, and battery storage systems.

  • Test and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment to identify and resolve problems.

  • Write detailed and accurate quotes for repairs, maintenance, and installations, based on thorough assessment and understanding of electronic systems and customer requirements.

  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to gather price information and component availability for quote preparation.

  • Support the invoicing process by providing detailed breakdowns of services and parts used, ensuring accuracy in billing.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including cleaning and lubricating parts, replacing worn or defective components, and checking for proper operation.

  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to develop and implement electrical projects and upgrades.

  • Prepare and maintain records, including schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Keep up to date with advancements in electrical technology and industry trends.

  • Adapt to a constantly changing fast-paced work environment while meeting production schedules
