Primary Position Objectives

To effectively develop and implement documentation, procedures, systems, programs, and studies for the purpose of making continuous improvements to the quality, cost, and lead-time of goods and services, monitoring production processes, and making adjustments or troubleshoot as needed to customers of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Description of Duties

Estimating

  • Develop Project/Tool Estimates (Quotes) & Review Project (PO) Contract.
  • Back up for the Project Manager for all metal stamping and four slides programs.
  • Resolved issues on specific projects and articulate as directed by Management.
  • Recommend how and where to create cellular manufacturing.
  • Work with Program Manager on overseeing & first line contact – all Outsource – Tooling – Wire – Heat-treat – Design – Build.
  • Work with Director of Engineering on overseeing & first contact - all outsource for tooling samples – Heat treat – Plate etc…
  • Update/Correct job travelers for operation changes / additions.
  • Print quotes for processing – Tooling & Eng. Mgr. as received from the quote dept.

Lean Initiatives

  • Observe CSS processes and give recommendations for improvement
  • Participates in Lean Projects.

Other

  • Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
  • May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry or Manufacturing Degree
  • Ability to read blue prints and analyzes its feasibility to be manufactured.
  • Knowledge of:
    1. Lean manufacturing and its components (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.).
    2. ISO quality standards and statistical process control in a production environment.
    3. principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly.
    4. Production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods.
    5. Statistical process control in production environments.
    6. Six-sigma or other methods to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control process capability.
  • CAD Literate. Capable of using CAD (AutoCad / SolidWorks) for creating specifications for fixture/assembly aids, gauges and machine designs, as well as floor plans a plus.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining visual works instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Detail & Task driven work ethic.
