Job Description

FUNCTION

The Frontside Maintenance Worker installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping and electrical systems in commercial and industrial establishments by performing the following duties:

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses CMMS (24/7) to keep a maintenance log to track work order requests and completion involving all assigned maintenance repairs.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and correct them in a timely manner, target within 30 days maximum.
  • Responsible for performing preventative maintenance program on all equipment, where licensing is not required.
  • Knowledge required to repair machinery, equipment, and structural issues.
  • Understands the principles and operation of comprehensive fire suppression system, including response and risk mitigation.
  • Able to perform small welding tasks (where necessary), flooring, ceiling tile & roof repairs as required throughout facility.
  • Responds to and assist with plumbing, electrical, HVACE and other facility related incidents.
  • Responsibilities include operating a forklift/aerial lift and passing associated certification.
  • Willing to work at heights and confined spaces where necessary.
  • Will be required to participate in and complete safety training and pass associated quizzes ON TIME.
  • Will have strong understanding of state and local building codes while performing premise inspections with the ability to remediate inspection violations.
  • Must be able to work the racing schedule Wed to Sun, Twilight Thursdays and Downs After Darks.
  • Willing to work overtime and off-shifts during racing season where required (2nd and 3rd shift).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Additional education (Associate’s) or training such as trade vocational school in maintenance subjects and certificates and other training records preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of (5) five years of proven experience involving maintenance trades including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, electrical and other basic maintenance skills.
  • Must have a minimum or (3) three years of proven experience in commercial facility maintenance, per the above.
  • Have above average computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CMMS and CMMS/IMS (24/7) programs.
  • Have experience using a MIG Welder.
  • Have experience with dry fire sprinkler systems (Valve house)-operation and resetting.
  • Must be able to work alone or with others in a team environment with little supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to make educated decisions.
  • Must be able to operate maintenance equipment such as forklift, two-man lift, and various power tools.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The ability to regularly lift and/or move a minimum of ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move twenty five (25) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move fifty (50) pounds.
  • The ability to remain in a stationary position, move, traverse ascend /descend, position self to move, manipulate tools and equipment, and repetitively operate, use, inspect, place, detect, and position required equipment, resources, or machinery.
  • Must have detect, determine, perceive recognize, judge, inspect, estimate and assess various working situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
