NWS Creative Design Team- 3D Modeling and Prototyping

The creative design team is a multidisciplinary team of students that bring their expertise and passion to assist in the creation of new products and services at the Berglund Center. We are looking for a person with interest in 3D modeling and prototyping, to serve as a consultant to the projects we are incubating. These range from medical devices, consumer products, to robotics, IoT and everything in between.

Primary responsibility is to assist the teams design, test and troubleshoot their prototypes. * Assists with designing 3D models using CAD software (i.e. Fusion 360, TinkerCad, Blender, etc.) * Building physical and/or digital prototypes using 3D printers, CNC Mills, Laser cutters, vacuum formers, electronics, robotics and other tools available at the Berglund Center to test and evaluate the utility of the prototypes in meeting the desired goals (training is provided- no prior knowledge required). * Works closely with other creative design team members to identify needs, gaps and solutions to assist with the creation of the prototypes supported by the Center. * Reports directly to the Director of the Berglund Center. Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the US. Qualifications Familiarity or willingness to learn 3D modeling software (Fusion 360) Previous experience with "tinkering" activities (robotics, design, 3D printing, etc.) is desired but not required.
