Fleet Mechanic

JW Ivester Logistics Inc is looking for a hard-working individual to join our team as a fleet mechanic. All candidates should possess a great attitude, be a self starter, and have in depth knowledge of diesel engines and the components on a semi truck. Mechanic will be responsible for helping to maintain our fleet of Freightliner day cab and sleeper trucks.

Duties will include completing routine maintenance, diagnostics of common issues, and helping to maintain fleet records.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a diesel or heavy truck technician and have a strong knowledge of Detroit and Cummins heavy duty engines. Candidate must also have knowledge and experience with air brake systems, minor electrical troubleshooting, and all-around knowledge of DOT policies concerning the upkeep of on-road vehicles.

Daily responsibilities will include inspections of equipment, repair of damaged vehicle components, maintaining vehicle maintenance logs, and responding to vehicle breakdowns.

Compensation includes competitive pay, paid holidays, paid vacations, retirement plan, and monthly performance incentives. Compensation will be contingent on experience, willingness to grow with company, and overall attitude. Starting pay ranges from $52,000 - $70,000 per year based on experience plus performance incentives.

All candidates must be able maintain a somewhat flexible schedule that could include extended work hours in the case of equipment failure. Expectations of work schedule are Monday thru Friday. Start times usually begin at 4:00PM. Weekends are not required but are voluntary.
