Chief Cyber Security Engineer/Architect

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced software developer to design and develop AWS-based mission applications, working in a small project team in a DevOps environment, and help transition applications to a new environment where needed. The candidate would have the opportunity to work with DevOps engineers, other developers, and architects on applications of varying degrees of scale, risk and complexity.

What you will be doing:

The selected candidate will act as an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) assisting developers to achieve Assessment & Authorization (A&A) success for all AWS-based projects spanning multiple platforms and networks. The selected candidate will be directly involved in processing all organization efforts through the Risk Management Framework and cycle. This includes:

• Working collaboratively with other program security personnel as well as working independently on selected projects
• Acting as the organizations liaison to the ISSM staff promoting security compliance and related process improvements
• Working with Information Management Technical Officers (IMTOs)
• Coordinating and tracking risks, accreditation status, and reporting status across all project teams
• Providing team officers with Security Architecture guidance and engineering reviews
• Ensuring compliance with Sponsor auditing requirements
• Maintaining awareness of IT Security policies and practices
• Supporting security scanning, interpreting results, and working with developers to resolve identified issues
• Assisting with the preparation, updating, and submission of security relevant documents to Sponsor systems and security personnel
• Completing necessary application security document requirements to include, but not limited to, CONOPS, SSPs, DR Plans, BOEs, etc.

Required Skills:

• Experience developing a Body of Evidence (BOE) for gaining accreditation;
• Experience working with Sponsor security personnel to identify and resolve questions and POA&Ms;
• Experience tracking accreditations and gaining reaccreditations prior to expiration;
• Experience incorporating the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Skills Highly Desired:

• Experience with Xacta or newer systems;
• Experience working with AWS for the purpose of obtaining program accreditations

Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph is required to be considered for this role
