Warehouse Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:

This job will primarily consist of receiving, storing and distributing product within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Essential Functions:

1. Assist receiving with the unloading of trucks, checking in merchandise, and submitting the appropriate documentation for processing.

2. Read customer orders/shipping orders to determine items to be gathered, distributed and/or shipped.

3. Move product from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated storage areas.

4. Sort and place product on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.

5. Assemble customer orders from stock and relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.

6. Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.

7. Assist in counting physical inventory.

8. Prepare parcels for mailing.

9. Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for all warehouse traffic.

10. Sweep, dust, and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment:

This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as box cutters, hand truck and tape dispensers, ladders, and forklifts. Occasionally office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines will be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may vary depending on business need. Occasional overtime may be requested as needed.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education:

1. High school diploma or GED.

2. Must be at least 21 years old.

Preferred Experience:

1. One year previous warehouse experience.
