About the Role
Assists in the daily clinical operations of the Preop/PACU in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures. Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Work in fast paced environment
Applies the principles of aseptic technique and prescribed procedures to competently perform technician functions
Adheres to the sterilization process policies and procedures
Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate care for patients of various age groups
Adheres to the procedure requirements and technician functions approved for the facility
Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure
Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment by adhering to cleaning, care, utilization and sterilization procedures as directed
Performs required biological monitoring tests on all sterilizers according to established policy and procedures
Reports observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy and procedure non-compliance to the Safety Coordinator or other designated person.
Exhibit a high degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity, and strict confidentiality with HIPPA compliance in all daily tasks.
Assesses patient/significant others understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention
Provides safe medication administration
Manages patient complications/emergencies preoperatively and postoperatively
Manages and documents-controlled substance inventory
Utilizes aseptic technique and infection control principles to establish and maintain intravenous access
Reports significant patient information to medical staff appropriately
Documents patient response during postoperative period
What We Expect From You
Required
Graduate of accredited school of nursing
Current RN license
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL
Two (2) years of clinical experience with an emphasis in PACU, surgery or ER
Ambulatory surgery center experience
Knowledge of regulatory standards
Electronic Medical Record Experience
BLS
