GPD is excited to expand our professional surveying services and is looking to hire a Lead Project Surveyor in our Columbus, OH office that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit GPD is founded on. GPD Group prides itself on being a forward-thinking company that includes the use of traditional survey paired with newer technologies in UAV and LiDAR. This Senior Project Surveyor will share a passion for innovation, survey expertise and leading the technical effort to deliver on project execution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Surveying Engineering Technology.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the Survey industry.
  • Ohio Professional Surveying License required.
  • Expertise in working on resolution of centerlines, parcel boundaries and rights of way for design projects.
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software (i.e., MicroStation, Inroads, Civil3D).
  • Experience with Laser Scanning and UAS technologies a plus.
  • Ohio Department of Transportation-Right of Way Reviewer Certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Experience mentoring and empowering surveyors newer in their career.
  • Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communication while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project work in our Survey group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline: this includes all practices/market sectors that GPD services: Public Works, Transportation, Roadway, Traffic, etc.
  • Strategic Planning and Project Execution includes working with the Project Manager to develop and execute strategic actions aligned with both Survey and GPD Group goals: GPD is looking for a go-getter that is passionate about driving growth and opportunity for the company. They would coordinate with other professional surveyors and project teams to complete project scope and schedule on time and within GPD’s quality standards.
  • Mentoring and developing the Survey team to further our success in the industry: this includes not only survey and technical training but empowering those teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translating that to continued career success.
  • Technical project work includes all aspects of surveying including (but not limited to) input on field operations, drafting of topographic surveys and resolution of boundaries. It will also encompass preparing surveying documents, reviewing plats and easements, researching past survey maps and deeds.
