Research Laboratory Technician/Biologist
Bethesda, MD

MUST:
Experienced Research Laboratory Technician/Biologist
Minimum of two years of experience in a research laboratory environment
Experience working in a laboratory environment
Knowledge of proper handling/disposal of hazardous waste
Experience assisting staff to maintain, breed, genotype, and phenotype mouse colony
Maintain records of mouse colony
Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences or other related discipline

DUTIES:
Maintain and oversee laboratory safety protocols
Prepare cell culture and biological reagents
Record tests and analysis and report the results to principal investigator (PI)
Perform tissue and cell culture / transfection; use sterile technique
Perform DNA amplification/PCR
Prepare and maintain stock solutions
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including freezers, incubators, and centrifuges; arrange for instrument service and repair as needed
Organize and maintain supply inventory; submit order requests for supplies and equipment
Work with staff on overall laboratory function, maintenance and experimentation
Update animal protocols through the submission of amendments to ensure necessary animal work for experiments
Perform mouse dissection
Perform immunocytochemistry techniques
Participate in laboratory meetings
