OB Tech

Summary: This is a 13-week contract position that requires at least one year of OB Tech experience.

The OB Tech is responsible for providing technical support to obstetricians and nurses in the labor and delivery unit. This includes preparing the delivery room, assisting with childbirth, and maintaining equipment and supplies. The OB Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe delivery of babies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to obstetricians and nurses in the labor and delivery unit, including preparing the delivery room, assisting with childbirth, and maintaining equipment and supplies
• Prepare the delivery room for childbirth, including setting up equipment and supplies, sterilizing instruments, and verifying patient information
• Assist with childbirth, including monitoring fetal heart rates, applying episiotomy stitches, and suctioning the newborn
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of equipment and supplies
• Maintain and troubleshoot medical equipment, including testing and calibrating instruments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
• Monitor and report any adverse reactions or equipment malfunctions
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including obstetricians, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to coordinate care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities

• Current Certified OB Tech (COT) certification
• 1+ years of experience as an OB Tech, with experience in a labor and delivery unit preferred
• Knowledge of childbirth procedures, equipment, and instruments
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
