Job Title: Content Marketing Manager- Hybrid

Branch: Association Office to the YMCA Of Greater Brandywine
Location: 1 East Chestnut Street West Chester, PA
Shifts/Availability: Full Time Exempt
Salary: $42,000-$55,000

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine:

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, this team member is responsible for developing a wide range of marketing content that drives awareness, acquisition, and retention for the YMCA of Greater Brandywine and its eight branches. The qualified candidate will demonstrate strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to inspire readers/viewers to act; knowledge and experience with all forms of marketing content and channels; strong project management skills; and a solid understanding of how content is used to drive marketing strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Outlines, researches, and writes engaging content for multiple marketing channels including, but not limited to, print, web, email, and social media.
  • Partners with YMCA staff, members, and subject matter experts to uncover and develop compelling stories for both traditional and digital media from concept to completion. Conducts interviews with subjects and synthesizes information into succinct and inspiring stories that motivate readers/viewers to take action.
  • Develops and manages an editorial calendar and schedule for the organization's blog. Develops content with a focus on identified personas and SEO/keywords in order to drive web traffic and lead generation.
  • Assists in identifying media opportunities for the organization. Drafts and distributes articles for media placement for all branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine to increase awareness of the organization's mission and community impact. Assists with media pitching and reporter coordination.
  • Leads the organizational response to crisis serving as the on-call member of the marketing team which may include weekend and evening hours as needed.
  • Reinforces the organization's brand voice through all content creation, positioning the YMCA of Greater Brandywine as a cause-driven organization.
  • Develops and maintains an editorial style guide for the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.
  • Establishes contacts with media representatives as needed. Schedules all media opportunities for specific events when requested. Writes and submits press releases when appropriate. Maintains updated files of YMCA's media relations (both press and electronic).
  • Stays abreast of standards, strategies, best practices, and trends in content and digital marketing.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience as a copywriter or content specialist.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated copywriting skills for direct, digital, and promotional marketing channels. (Writing samples will be requested.)
  • Understanding of inbound marketing and marketing automation.
  • Experience with journalistic/PR writing and AP style, and the ability to optimize content for SEO and digital marketing channels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Solid understanding of email marketing best practices, as well A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Knowledge of crisis communication best practices and experience in managing or supporting a crisis communications strategy.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain information to diverse groups.
  • Experience with social media and blog management.
  • Experience with web content management systems desirable.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign desirable.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
