CNC Machinist

Our client, REED Manufacturing at 1425 West 8th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania, is seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join their unionized organization. This direct hire position requires proactive, independent, self-driven individuals who are experienced and knowledgeable in the operation of CNC Mills and Lathes. Off-shift positions are currently available.
Specific areas of responsibility for these positions include:
· Load and run CNC mills in an assigned group of machines to maintain productivity and meet production requirements.
· Load and run CNC lathes (multiple spindles, turrets, and live tooling) in an assigned group of machines and maintain productivity and meet production requirements. Load and run bar feeders for lathes.
· Run other machines as directed.
· Utilize drawings, routers, forms, inspection sheets, and system reports.
· Must accurately measure parts to specifications and maintain proper part quality conformance. Reports and records quality issues daily to the quality department.
· Performs operator maintenance on machinery (add coolant, change inserts, chip removal, etc.)
· Maintain housekeeping and a safe work environment.
· Keeps accurate records of job orders, time spent, and parts produced each day.
· Work as a team, make suggestions for improvement and communicate within the department to ensure continuity between all shifts/departments.
· Other duties as assigned by management
Individuals with the education, knowledge, and ability to set up CNC mills, lathes, bar feeders, and other machines, along with the ability to make tooling offsets, machine origins offsets, and adjustments to ensure part quality are desired.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years’ experience as a CNC Machinist and possess a high mechanical aptitude. A secondary degree in CNC Machining or completion of an Apprenticeship Program is a plus. In addition, the ideal performer will be a motivated self-starter with good interpersonal and technical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively on verbal and written levels.

We have openings for both B & A categories of machinists based on the candidate’s knowledge and experience. Initial hourly rates are:
· Class B $17.04 - $19.70
· Class A $21.70 - $22.35
· Shift Differential of $0.60 per hour
Healthcare Coverage is available 1st of the month following the employment date.
Upon satisfactory completion of the training period employees will be entitled to:
· Overtime
· Profit Sharing (full PS of 12.5% of W2 wages paid for the past 10 years – not guaranteed)
· 401(k) benefits – Employer match of 50% up to 6%, match limit 3% of gross salary. Additional 1% of gross salary employer contribution.
