HVAC Purchasing Agent
- $18 to $30 Hourly
- Full-Time
General Responsibility:
The duties of the Purchasing Agent is to identify and purchase material, ensuring the Company’s ability to meet production needs. The Purchasing Agent focuses on materials acquisitions, assessing and management of key suppliers, fulfilling internal orders and developing/maintaining pricing spreadsheet.
Significant Duties:
· Review production reports and MR’s, order appropriate material to meet production needs
· Develop purchase orders with correct pricing, job costing and material returns if applicable
· Request quotes, analyze pricing and compliance, prepare contracts and process the required documentation
· Estimates values according to market price
· Prepares purchase orders and subcontracts
· Work directly with estimators, and Project Managers
· Verify receipt of material with receiving department, warehouse and foreman
· Provide material pricing to sales and project management for fieldwork orders and project bids
· Communicate with operations and sales departments regarding new products and changes in pricing
· Ensure that material quality standards are maintained
· Conduct a daily walkthrough of the warehouse to ensure that all material is handled and stored properly
· Communicate with all involved in operations in conjunction with fabrication, jobsite deliveries & shop deliveries
· Performs within the values and guidelines of 20/20 and adheres to the 20/20 Policies and Procedures
· Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes
· Other duties or projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
· High School Diploma, continued/ongoing education and training related to purchasing functions
· Three or more years’ in the field of purchasing with HVAC parts experience
· General knowledge in the field of purchasing, industry specific in Single Family, Multi Family, Commercial and Hospitality HVAC projects
· Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Sage experience preferred
· Ability to maintain the highest ethical behavior
· Interact with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional and supportive manner
· Self-motivated and able to work in a collectively responsible team environment
· Ability to stay organized and manages priorities in an efficient manner
· Possess strong negotiation skills and experience and the ability to negotiate contracts that will support the division needs
· Need to have the skills required to analyze direct cost to maintain or improve budgets
· Exceptional communication skills necessary, both written and verbal; detail oriented with good follow-up and follow-thru skills
· Good people and problem solving skills required
· Display a cooperative attitude at all times
· Must have strong mathematical and statistical aptitude
Physical Requirements: The position of Purchasing Agent requires that you be able to lift objects that weigh up to 15 pounds, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and work above head and below waist. Ability to sit extended periods, stand, walk, climb stairs and use of hands, fingers, wrists, and arms.
