Job Description

Position Overview:  The Marketing Manager – Subscription Sales is responsible for all aspects of the subscription acquisition and renewal sales campaigns for the Seattle Symphony. This position reports to Director of Marketing and works closely with the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and the Senior Manager of Sales & Service; in addition, this position collaborates heavily with all Symphony departments to track and achieve the Symphony’s subscription revenue goals.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and with the Director of Marketing to develop subscription sales campaign content and timelines.
  • Develop and execute all aspects of the subscription renewal and acquisition campaigns to achieve projected ticket and revenue goals with ongoing monitoring of revenue and expenses.
  • Develop subscriber retention program to increase subscriber satisfaction and renewal rates. Special focus placed on high-risk, first-time subscribers.
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and Senior Manager of Sales & Service to develop subscription pricing, budgets and revenue forecasts.
  • Coordinate sales campaign efforts, timelines and overall subscription patron communication strategy with other Marketing and Development department leads to ensure correct patron segmentation across concurrent campaigns.
  • Responsible for ongoing campaign analysis focused on indicators such as ROI, cost of sale, pricing, market trends, customer satisfaction and product preference. Conduct ongoing evaluation of all subscription revenue channels.
  • Working with Symphony staff and web developer to ensure that our online ticket purchase process is seamless, including aspects of Tessitura web integration and select-your-own-seat feature.
  • Lead Marketing & sales operations for co-presentations under the National Geographic Live and Live @ Benaroya Hall brands, and other events as required.

·       Maintain tasks using the project management software (Asana) including design jobs and other general marketing deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of Orchestra or non-profit marketing experience, in a high-volume marketing and ticket sales environment required.
  •  Excellent writing, editing, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as leadership and analytical skills are required.
  • The ability to manage a multitude of projects and expertise in the creation of effective, successful marketing plans is necessary.
  • Experience with Tessitura a plus.
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed when shows or events are in season

·       This position requires repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers for typing at a standard keyboard and regular pinching, picking up and holding pencils and other desk tools

·       Must have the ability to lift 30 pounds as needed
