Wireman Job Summary
We are seeking a Wireman to help connect our clients' properties to outside power lines. In this position, you will review the schematics of the building, use power and hand tools to install electrical wiring, and test the connection to ensure you have properly restored electricity to the unit or building. For larger buildings with multiple units, you may need to be familiar with electrical control wiring and control panel assembly. Our ideal applicant possesses a license and several years of experience as an electrician. You should also be very familiar with the NEC electrical codes.
Wireman Duties and Responsibilities
- Review the blueprints and schematics of the client's building
- Run wiring from their control panel to outside power lines
- Test the connection and inspect the job for compliance with NEC codes
- Assemble and install control panels when necessary
- Respond to repair or maintenance requests
Wireman Requirements and Qualifications
- Completion of a wireman apprenticeship
- Valid state license
- Electrician and general construction experience
- Mechanical and blueprint reading skills
- Attention to detail and safety
