Job Summary: As a Union Carpenter, you will be an essential part of a skilled team responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing various wooden structures and fixtures. Your role will involve precise measurements, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials according to specified plans and designs. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and collaboration with fellow team members and project stakeholders.

• Study and comprehend architectural and structural plans to determine project requirements, measurements, and materials needed
• Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials using hand and power tools to match project specifications
• Build wooden structures, including framing, walls, roofs, and floors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
• Mount doors, windows, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures, ensuring precise alignment and functional operation
• Conduct inspections to identify any defects or issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to maintain structural integrity
• Work closely with other team members, such as architects, engineers, and other trades, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Strictly follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members
• Keep tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any malfunctions or damage for timely repair or replacement
• Provide regular updates on project progress and report any issues or challenges that may impact the project timeline or quality

• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training is highly preferred
• At least 3-5 years of experience working as a carpenter, with a focus on structural and finish carpentry
• Possession of relevant certifications, such as a Carpenter's License or OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification, is an advantage
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices in construction
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and cuts
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy materials regularly
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in attendance and work performance
• Ability to analyze and solve problems independently and as part of a team
