Transportation Supervisor Job Summary
Our distribution center is looking for an organized and experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our company. This role involves overseeing the team of drivers delivering outbound shipments. In addition to scheduling drivers and assigning their delivery routes, you will also be in charge of reviewing trip reports for accuracy and ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations. While one of your functions is to ensure that drivers maintain their qualifications and don't log too many hours on the road, you should encourage them to make their deliveries quickly and safely. Applicants for this role must have prior delivery or logistics experience.
Transportation Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule drivers
- Assign delivery routes
- Update driver information
- Assist with the hiring process for new drivers
- Maintain records of vehicle use and maintenance
- Process trip logs or reports
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Transportation Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Post-secondary education or experience in logistics is a plus
- Trucking or delivery experience (preferred)
- Valid CDL (commercial driver's license)
- Organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
