Surgical Nurse Job Summary

Surgical Nurse Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist surgeons during operations by providing them with the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Monitor and assess patient condition during and after surgical procedures and provide post-operative care as needed
- Educate patients and their families on pre-and post-operative care and instructions.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment by adhering to all safety protocols
- Document patient care in the medical record and maintain accurate records of all treatments and procedures
Surgical Nurse Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
