Sonographer Job Summary

The obstetrics and gynecology department of our medical clinic is looking for a qualified Sonographer to join our team. In this role, you will use diagnostic imaging equipment to perform ultrasounds. You will also prepare patients for the procedure, so we are looking for an individual who is informative and reassuring. Applicants must have a license or certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as well as a basic life support (BLS) certification.

Sonographer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasounds
  • Prep patients for ultrasound procedures
  • Set up diagnostic imaging equipment
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations

Sonographer Requirements and Qualifications

  • Completion of a certificate program or an associate degree in medical sonography
  • Valid ultrasound technician license or certification from the ARDMS (RDMS, RDCS, or RVT)
  • BLS (basic life support) certification
  • NT (Nuchal Translucency) certification a plus
