Scrub Tech Job Summary
We are seeking a Scrub Tech who will be a central part of our medical team. The Scrub Tech will be responsible for setting up and providing direct assistance to surgeons in the operating room. This role ensures the operating environment is clean and sterile, hands instruments and supplies to surgeons, and manages the operating room inventory. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and possess excellent communication and multitasking skills.
Scrub Tech Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by arranging and organizing the surgical instruments and supplies according to the type of surgery
- Ensure area is sterile and stocked with supplies and equipment
- Set up the sterile field, assisting with gowning, positioning, and setting up instruments and equipment
- Sterilize and maintain all instruments and equipment for the surgery
- Assist the surgeon during the operation, handing them instruments and supplies as needed
- Monitor and maintain the operating room inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as needed
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Scrub Tech Requirements and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent, preferred
- Demonstrated excellent technical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and aseptic techniques
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with medical team and patients
