Petroleum Engineer Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Petroleum Engineer to help us ensure field profitability. You will work with other engineers, geologists, and field personnel to compile data about reservoir behavior and well production, looking for ways to increase productivity as we move forward. You will input data regarding yields, forecasts, expenses, and other factors into ARIES software to complete predictive modeling and make optimization recommendations. We are looking for engineers who are experts in one or more sub-disciplines, such as reservoir, completion, and production engineering. Applicants with their PE license in petroleum engineering are preferred.
Petroleum Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor reservoir behavior and ensure field profitability
- Compile and analyze data to identify ways to increase productivity of new and existing wells
- Help plan new wells, taking into account geological concerns
- Determine data requirements to support the predictive modeling process
- Estimate future production from existing reservoirs
- Update ARIES with production yields, forecasts, expenses, and other data
- Prepare presentations regarding well performance, reserves, and optimization recommendations
Petroleum Engineer Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering (master's degree a plus)
- PE license preferred
- Professional experience with one or more sub-disciplines, such as reservoir, drilling, completion, or production engineering
- Experience with ARIES software a plus
- Presentation skills
- Problem-solving skills
