Managing Editor Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our publication as a Managing Editor. As part of our editorial team, you work with writers and content professionals to develop story ideas and resources, manage teams of writers, designers, and photographers, and ensure the accuracy, importance, and clarity of every piece of content. Managing Editor Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with content producers and writers to develop content ideas
  • Approve pitches, develop ongoing stories, and manage content timelines
  • Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness of all content
  • Ensure all visual assets and photographs are legally clear
  • Deliver daily reports regarding progress, emerging trends, and challenges

Managing Editor Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a relevant field
  • Five years of experience in a newsroom or publishing environment, or commensurate similar experience
  • Impeccable language and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent leadership ability
