Litigation Paralegal Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team and provide support to attorneys in preparing for court hearings, trial and other legal proceedings. The successful candidate will ensure all documents are properly filed, assist attorneys in case preparation, research legal documents and regulations, and take on other assigned duties.
Litigation Paralegal Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and file court documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Manage and organize case files, including summarizing and indexing documents
- Research legal documents and regulations
- Monitor and track court deadlines and filings
- Communicate with opposing counsel, clients, court personnel, and other parties as needed
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials and other legal proceedings
- Prepare legal documents, such as affidavits, contracts, and legal opinions
- Investigate the facts of cases and analyze legal issues
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
Litigation Paralegal Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of court rules, procedures and regulations
- Able to work independently and efficiently
- Able to remain calm in stressful situations
