Lactation Consultant Job Summary

  • Participate in research projects

Lactation Consultant Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health education, or related field
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) certification
  • Three to five years of clinical experience in lactation or breastfeeding
  • Knowledge of current breastfeeding research and evidence-based practice
  • Excellent teaching, communication, and counseling skills
