Instrument Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our team as an Instrument Technician. As part of our team, you will monitor various technical and mechanical systems, ensuring operation within specified parameters, regular maintenance schedules, and fast identification of non-operation or malfunction. You will accurately log all maintenance performed on equipment and work with operations and production teams to ensure the availability of critical systems, maintaining a well-inventoried reservoir of parts and spares as necessary. Our ideal candidate has at least an associate degree in instrumentation technology as well as prior experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Instrument Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor various mechanical systems as they are in operation to ensure efficient and safe use
  • Maintain strict maintenance schedules for critical systems, logging all repairs and inspections
  • Quickly identify non-operative and malfunctioning systems before damage can occur
  • Troubleshoot test failures to determine root causes and develop processes to avoid repeat failure

Instrument Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in instrumentation technology or related field; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, especially in roles related to systems repair and troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving and math skills
  • Experience with complex mechanical, pneumatic, and computerized systems
