Industrial Hygienist Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our team. As an Industrial Hygienist, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and assessments of workplaces for health and safety issues. This position will develop and implement industrial hygiene programs in compliance with government regulations, while also providing technical advice and expertise to management and other personnel regarding workplace safety and health issues.

Industrial Hygienist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and assessments of industrial and commercial facilities to identify and evaluate potential health and safety risks
  • Monitor and evaluate air quality, ventilation systems, noise levels, radiation levels, and other environmental factors
  • Develop, implement, and monitor industrial hygiene programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations
  • Provide technical advice and expertise to management and other personnel regarding workplace safety and health issues
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain detailed reports and records of inspections and assessments
  • Investigate and respond to employee complaints and concerns regarding workplace safety and health
  • Develop and implement training programs and materials to ensure personnel are aware of and comply with safety and health regulations
  • Monitor and update safety policies and procedures

Industrial Hygienist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, safety engineering, or related field
  • Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Extensive knowledge of safety and health regulations, including OSHA and EPA
  • Able to interpret and analyze data and draw sound conclusions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with spreadsheet and database software
