Job Summary: As a Fire Watch, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our work environment by monitoring and preventing fire hazards during construction, maintenance, or hot work activities. Your vigilance and attention to detail will help protect our employees, property, and equipment from potential fire risks. This position is essential in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace, and it requires a high level of responsibility and commitment to safety protocols.

• Fire Hazard Monitoring: Constantly observe the work area to identify potential fire hazards, such as sparks, open flames, or flammable materials.
• Hot Work Oversight: Provide fire watch services during hot work activities, including welding, cutting, and grinding, ensuring all safety precautions are followed.
• Fire Extinguisher Readiness: Keep fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment readily accessible and in working order, inspecting them regularly.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond quickly in case of fire emergencies by sounding alarms, alerting personnel, and using fire extinguishing equipment when necessary.
• Evacuation Assistance: Assist in evacuating personnel from hazardous areas, ensuring everyone reaches a safe location in case of fire or other emergencies.
• Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication with workers involved in hot work, providing warnings and guidance to prevent fire incident.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of fire watch activities, including logs of observations, actions taken, and equipment inspections.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and procedures related to fire prevention and emergency response, and report any violations to the supervisor.
• Training: Participate in regular safety training sessions to stay updated on fire prevention techniques and emergency response protocols.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that fire protection equipment, such as fire blankets, fire-resistant clothing, and fire extinguishers, are in good working condition and report any defects for immediate repair or replacement.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a similar role or a basic understanding of fire safety and prevention is preferred.
• Knowledge of fire hazards and the ability to recognize potential risks.
• Familiarity with different types of fire extinguishers and their proper use.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay alert for extended periods.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and perform duties in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
• Team player with a strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
• Willingness to undergo additional training in fire safety and emergency response.
• Basic first aid/CPR certification is a plus.
