Detention Officer Job Summary
The Detention Officer will be responsible for the monitoring, security, and safety of inmates in a detention center. - Participate in emergency response procedures
Detention Officer Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in a detention center or correctional facility is preferred
- Able to pass a background check and drug test
- Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding the care and treatment of inmates
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Physically fit and able to handle potentially dangerous situations
