Job Summary: As a Cargo Ship Worker, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of cargo ships, ensuring the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of goods. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. You will work closely with a team of maritime professionals to ensure the timely and secure delivery of cargo to its destination.

• Safely load and unload cargo from ships using equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and conveyor systems
• Inspect cargo for damage, ensure proper packaging, and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors
• Secure cargo using appropriate methods, such as lashing, bracing, or blocking, to prevent shifting during transit
• Complete and maintain accurate records of cargo, including quantity, condition, and destination
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling practices, to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition
• Maintain effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other personnel to coordinate cargo operations efficiently
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including spills, fires, or other incidents, following established procedures
• Comply with environmental regulations and guidelines, including the proper disposal of hazardous materials
• Assist in maintaining security on board the ship, including monitoring access and reporting any suspicious activities
• Work collaboratively with crew members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely departures
• Be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in cargo handling or maritime operations is preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be provided
• Basic understanding of cargo securing techniques and safety protocols
• Ability to operate cargo-handling equipment, including forklifts and cranes, safely and effectively (if required for the position)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding and sometimes adverse weather conditions
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as cargo ship operations often run 24/7
• Knowledge of and commitment to safety and environmental regulations
• Must be eligible to work in the country or region where the cargo ship operates
• Any relevant certifications or licenses, such as a forklift operator's license or a seafarer's document, are a plus but not mandatory
