Biochemist Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Biochemist to join our team. In this role, you will lead a team of basic and applied researchers to optimize Biochemistry research, conduct experiments, note key findings and compose papers. Must be a critical thinker and have the experience exercising supervisory skills as the person in this role will supervise research assistants and lab personnel.
Biochemist Duties and Responsibilities
- Observe molecules using various lab instruments
- Design and executes experiments to troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Conduct data analyses
- Consult scientific and educational journals to support findings
- Supervise lab personnel
- Present research findings at annual symposiums, conferences, and seminars
- Track field-related developments to ensure findings are up-to-date
- Prepare technical reports and grant proposals
Biochemist Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Master's degree preferred, but not required
- 4+ years of related experience
- Familiarity with ASBMB accreditation process
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt
- Familiarity with publication and grant-writing processes
- Ability to work well independently and on a team
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instruments
