Armed Security Officer Job Summary
We are looking for an Armed Security Officer to join our team. You will patrol the interior and exterior of our facility, as well as monitor a closed-circuit television feed to prevent unauthorized access and limit other incidents. Our officers must have a firearms permit issued by the BSIS, and additional certifications are highly valuedâ , such as a baton permit, pepper spray permit, and CPR certification. You must be able to collaborate with the other members of our team to limit any potential risks. We expect each infraction to be thoroughly investigated and properly documented. Our ideal candidate has military, law enforcement, or security experience.
Armed Security Officer Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrol an area for any safety or security risks
- Carry a weapon for de-escalation and defensive purposes
- Prevent unauthorized access to the area and the items within
- Respond to reported incidents as necessary
- Monitor a closed-circuit television for potential issues
- Maintain a log of any activities
- Document any visitors to the property
- Coordinate with law enforcement as necessary
Armed Security Officer Requirements and Qualifications
- Firearms Permit (BSIS certification); Baton and Pepper Spray permits are a plus
- Guard Card
- Law enforcement, security, or military experience strongly preferred
- CPR certification is a plus
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Reliable form of transportation
- Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work overnight, on weekends, and on holidays
- Observational and communication skills
