Anesthesia Technician Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to join our team. The Anesthesia Technician provides technical support in the operating room, including anesthesia equipment setup and maintenance, assistance with patient preparation, and assistance with anesthesia administration. The Anesthesia Technician works closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical personnel to ensure the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services.

Anesthesia Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain anesthesia equipment according to hospital standards and regulations
  • Prepare and check anesthesia equipment prior to use
  • Assist in the preparation of patient for surgery, including monitoring vital signs and preparing the operating room
  • Assist with the administration of anesthesia according to the instructions of the anesthesiologist
  • Monitor patient during and after surgery for adverse reactions to anesthesia
  • Assist with the maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including cleaning and sterilization
  • Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia activities and patient records

Anesthesia Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Anesthesia Technology or related field
  • Certification as a Certified Anesthesia Technician (CAT) from the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Ability to lift and move heavy medical equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS/ACLS) certification preferred
