Where do groundmen work?

Groundmen work outside for the majority of the time, so be prepared to work in a variety of weather conditions and at any time of the day in emergency situations. Since you assist other employees with materials and tools, you aren’t expected to climb poles or work off the ground most of the time, though you may dig the holes for these poles. Your job sites can be anywhere power lines are, including near busy roads, traffic intersections, residential areas, and commercial buildings. In these projects, you search for connections between downed or damaged power lines and broken transformers, repairing whatever is necessary. This takes some analytical skills to determine the problem, but you work with a team to get the job done.
