A geospatial technician helps geospatial analysts and other project managers build, maintain, modify, and utilize geographic information system (GIS) databases to identify spatial relationships. As a geospatial technician, you review and analyze GIS data as well as maps and graphs, upgrade software applications, create data reports and digital 3D models of terrain, and provide technical support to users. Qualifications for a career as a geospatial technician include a bachelor’s degree in geography, engineering, computer science or a related field and extensive experience using GIS databases.
