What is a builder?

A builder manages and works on construction projects for residential and commercial buildings. They may be a general contractor who works on any project, or they may choose to specialize in only commercial or residential construction. Job duties can include interpreting building plans and blueprints, making sure plans meet building code regulations, getting any necessary licenses or permits from the local government, inspecting ongoing building work, hiring subcontractors and laborers, assisting with building work as needed, and handling administrative tasks like sourcing materials and paying workers.
