What does a layout technician do?

A layout technician works on the layout and measurements for construction projects and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) programming purposes. Your job duties in this career include conducting measurements and inspecting blueprints of construction projects to look for dimensional discrepancies and ensure the accurate placement of the elements for the project. You use computer-aided design (CAD) software for drawing the layout and marking the location of essential aspects of the construction project, such as corners, walls, piers, supports, and foundations.
