Job description

Advanced Concrete Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Layout Technician to join our team in the construction of pre-fabricated basement walls. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background and possess excellent skills using hand-tools, measuring tapes and reading blueprints. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently.
Responsibilities:
As a Layout Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Scraping forms to prep them for construction.
  • Installing components into bed-forms.
  • Making note of all items to be placed in the walls such as windows and doors.
  • Installing all brickledges and support ledge.

Skills:
  • Must have the ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to use various hand tools.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Knowledge:
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must have basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.

Physical Requirement:
  • Requires frequent transportation of objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires occasional transportation of objects up to 120 lbs.
  • Requires repetitive use of feet when driving forklift.
  • Requires the ability to stand and walk for an 8 hour shift longer during periods of overtime.
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
  • Requires the ability to perform simple & firm grasping and fine manipulating with both hands.
  • Requires being around moving machinery.
  • Must have manual dexterity; able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
  • Must have multi limb coordination, able to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing or lying down.
  • Must be able to climb into concrete form approximately four feet from the floor to place wall components.
