What are food service jobs?

Career: Food

Food service jobs encompass a wide range of positions and responsibilities. There are bussers, servers, hosts, runners, and bartenders who work the front of the house. Line cooks, chefs, and dishwashers work the back of the house. All of these positions are vital to running a restaurant or similar operation. Some smaller restaurants may combine several different positions. At high-end establishments, there may be even more specialized positions, such as a director of a cocktail program or sommelier. All of these positions have different qualifications, but most can be worked up to without formal education.
